When is KSPL 2026?

KSPL 2026 is the inaugural edition of the Kiri Sappayo Premier League, kicking off on 25 April 2026 at 4 PM. Four teams compete: Kesbewa Strikers, Makuluduwa Marvels, Miriswaththa Falcons, and Piliyandala Kings.

How does the KSPL 2026 format work?

Four teams are split into two groups (A and B) by coin toss. Group winners cross over against group runners-up in the semifinals. The two highest-win teams play the Final; the bottom two play the 3rd place match. Tie-breakers, in order: ties won, set difference, point difference.

How many matches are in a KSPL team tie?

Each KSPL team tie consists of 5 matches: 4 Men's Doubles (MD1, MD2, MD3, MD4) and 1 Mixed Doubles (XD). The first team to win 3 of the 5 matches wins the tie. All five matches are played regardless, so set and point differences exist for tie-breakers.

What is the captain pick method in KSPL?

Before each tie, the captains coin-toss. The toss winner chooses to pick first or hand the first pick to the opponent. Captains then alternate picking match categories. Mixed Doubles is not fixed — it can be slotted at any of the 5 positions. Once submitted, the order cannot be changed.

What scoring system does KSPL use?

KSPL plays best-of-3 sets to 21 points (3×21). At 20–20 the set continues until one side leads by 2 points. At 29–29 the next point wins (golden point at 30). When BWF switches to 3×15 on 4 January 2027, KSPL switches with it — best of 3 to 15, capped at 21.

What is the difference between BWF 3×21 and 3×15?

3×21 is best of 3 sets, first to 21 with a 2-point margin and a hard cap at 30; mid-game interval at 11. 3×15 (effective 4 January 2027) is best of 3 sets, first to 15 with a 2-point margin and a hard cap at 21; mid-game interval at 8. Best-of-3 and the 2-point winning margin are unchanged.

What happens on a walkover or retirement in KSPL?

A walkover (W/O) is awarded when an opponent doesn't appear before the first rally — the present side wins 2–0 with no scoring on court. A retirement (RET) happens when play has started and a side cannot continue; the remaining side wins and the on-court score is preserved for the record.

How do KSPL predictions work?

Each registered user submits one pre-tournament prediction: the champion team, the top scorer, and the top points team. Predictions lock when the first match starts. After the tournament ends, the leaderboard ranks every prediction by accuracy.

Yes. KSPL's Organize mode lets clubs, schools, and corporate teams host their own public or private tournaments — round-robin, group + knockout, or single elimination — using the same live scoring, bracket, and predictions stack as KSPL Official.
